Chatgpt: ChatGPT Plus subscriptions are now available in India: Price, benefits and more

ChatGPT, the viral artificial intelligence (AI)-powered chatbot, took the world by storm late last year. OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, quickly announced a paid version of its chatbot, ChatGPT Plus, which offers more benefits, including access to the recently-launched GPT-4 large multimodal model (LMM).
“Great news! ChatGPT Plus subscriptions are now available in India. Get early access to new features, including GPT-4 today,” OpenAI tweeted. CEO of OpenAI, Sam Altman, retweeted saying, “We love India.”

Subscription price of ChatGPT Plus
The new subscription plan is now available for $20/month in India. When users in India log in to their account on chat.openai.com, they can see an option to “Upgrade to Plus” on the left sidebar. When you click on it, the website returns a pop-up showing the benefits of choosing a subscription over the free version.

How to subscribe to ChatGPT Plus
The pop-up that shows the benefits of ChatGPT Plus also has an “Upgrade plan” button. You can click on the button and make the payment via credit card in USD. Some people, even a few members of the TOI-Gadgets Now team who tried to make payments, received a message saying there was a problem with the payments page.
What are the benefits of ChatGPT Plus?
As per OpenAI, those who purchase ChatGPT Plus subscription will get general access to ChatGPT, even during peak times. Paid subscribers will also see faster response times and get priority access to new features and improvements, including GPT-4.

What happens to free ChatGPT?
OpenAI will offer free access to ChatGPT so you can continue using the free version of ChatGPT like you have been using it. “By offering this subscription pricing, we will be able to help support free access availability to as many people as possible,” the company said in a blog post previously.
